Is clarifying butter the same as browning it?

My understanding was clarified butter is seperating the milk solids and removing them, while browning butter is keeping the milk solids in it and browning the milk solids. So 2 different things.

I'm reading one of rose levy beranbaums cookbooks (rose's baking basics), and it says clarifying butter removes the water from it and browns the milk solids.

Are they the same thing then?
