What does it mean when chocolate I purchased is way more bitter than normal?

I bought these bars of chocolate that I typically use for baking, but for some reason, when I taste tested them this time around, they tasted like bitter mud. It was as if they had no added sugar at all.

Does this mean they're spoiled or something? Did someone at the factory forget the sugar? What happened?
