Do I need to let a soup cook before putting it in a container?

Hot liquids seem to leak out of closed soup containers when turned upside down. Will I find better containers if I spend more? I’m using dollar general soup containers.

I’ve seen those Chinese takeout soup containers everywhere, do they work better?
