Making buns for pulled pork

I’ve closely followed a video on the dough, now I am resting the bun portions on a covered baking sheet. After first resting the dough before portioning the video had me basically pop the dough to relieve air/gasses. After this second resting phase do I need to do the same? It wasn’t in the video but want to make sure because everything is going really well so far it seems
