Why do scrambled eggs sometimes taste artificial- almost as if vanilla extract was added?

I’ve had scrambled eggs many times in my life and I’ve noticed that on a few occasions at various establishments the eggs have this sweet flavor that turns me off. Akin to how some people have distaste for cilantro bc its tastes like soap to them. Other people wont have any qualms about the same eggs. It is artificial eggs they are using and I just seem to have a sensitive pallet? At first I thought they used too much cooking spray or added a weird herb but its happens too many times at various places. Can anyone relate or know what I’m referring to?!
