Attempting beef broth- question…

All recipes say things like “meaty beef bones” or “beefy short ribs”

I‘m confused: do I want meat on the bone? I thought it was supposed to be just bones. What exactly do they mean by “meaty bones”? I have no idea what to ask for at the market or how to know I got the right ingredients!

Any help will be much appreciated!
