Platter layout/bulking up

Hello,

I am putting a new menu together for my bar, I am by no means a chef but enjoy cooking and especially appreciate the aesthetic side of cooking/plating.

I am looking for ideas to "bulk up" my platters that at the moment consist of:

  • Cheese(s).
  • Cornichons.
  • Fruit paste.
  • Sliced apple.
  • Water Crackers.

Currently no garnish/herbs or anything like that.

Also, the big question of - can items on a board touch each other or is that a big no no?
