Knife damage advice needed

I accidentally dropped a fairly new chef's knife on the floor (fortunately it did not seem to damage the floor, nor did it land on my foot). Unfortunately the edge of the knife seems damaged. I don't have the equipment to sharpen and/or hone the knife at home (although I have heard of people doing one or the other--forget which--with the foot of a ceramic plate). The knife appears to cut fine, to the extent that I've tested it, but I can see the damage. Anyone have any advice for getting this fixed?
