Be honest, are my chances bleak?

Ive started a culinary program at my local community college, and it’s a rather good program especially for how cheap it is. I’ve dropped out of my university from lack of motivation of what I want to study and I’ve always had a passion for culinary arts and wanted to do that from the beginning. However, I went into it knowing i’m not guaranteed to get anywhere particularly glamorous. But lately the dread of working long hours for low pay and never getting anywhere I want in the culinary field has become really strong. Is it really possible to find a career in this that’s worthwhile? What are some tips to finding worthwhile jobs?
