Surely there must be an invention for this tedious task. Surely in asia there must exist a simpler gadget/hack for this than just a strainer. Maybe an automated rice washer to your rice cooker? For me it takes ages. I usually scrub the rice against and around a waterlogged strainer with my hands am I making it harder for myself perhaps? Does swirling it around in water really suffice? How about using baking soda when rinsing rice? I've seen it being used when washing other vegetables.
