"LOOKING FOR INFORMATION" I heard that only X number of recipes exist and all other recipes are variations of these basic recipes.

In the early seventies, Chef David Wade stated there is only X number of recipes and all other recipes are variations of these basic recipes. If I remember correctly the number was less than 10. Does anyone have more information about this subject?
