On Sunday, Donald Trump Jr. retweeted some unflattering photos of his father — in the form of a gigantic, orange baby blimp wearing a diaper, mouth wide open mid-shout.

The initial post was made by Twitter user Ricky Diaz, who tweeted: "Honestly, if I were Trump, I'd be flying this beauty over Beijing by morning." The tweet appears to be a reference to the suspected Chinese spy balloon the US Air Force shot down over the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday.

Trump Jr. retweeted the images, writing that the idea of flying the baby-Trump balloon over Beijing is "funny."

At press time, Trump Jr.'s tweet had been viewed over 2 million times and liked more than 56,000 times.

The 20-foot balloon of Trump in question was created by British protesters in 2018, who rallied against Trump's visit to London that year.

The blimp was flown over London's Parliament Square when Trump visited London in July 2018. It appeared again in London in June 2019 during Trump's diplomatic visit to the UK.

The massive balloon later surfaced stateside at a protest in Washington, D.C., in July 2019.

While it's unclear what Trump thought of his son's Twitter post on Sunday, Trump said in 2018 that the baby blimp made him feel "unwelcome" in the UK.

"I guess when they put out blimps to make me feel unwelcome, no reason for me to go to London," Trump told The Sun in 2018.

The Trump baby blimp was re-inflated in January at its current home at the Museum of London. The Museum told The Guardian that it plans to put it on show in an exhibition in 2026.

Representatives for Donald Trump Jr. at the Trump Organization and a spokesman for the former president did not immediately respond to Insider's requests for comment.
