should you salt pork like steaks a few hours before cooking?

i enjoy salting steaks for a few hours (3-24) prior to cooking. super tender, super delicious. what about a nice bone in pork chop? should i also salt a few hours prior to cooking instead of right before putting it in my super hot n seasoned cast iron?

pork is naturally more salty, right? so how do you season your pork prior to cooking?
