How to prevent chicken thighs with glaze from burning in air fryer?

I made this Char Siu Chicken - The Woks of Life but with an air fryer. I cooked it at 375f for about 22 mins total (flipping halfway) but both servings came out burnt halfway in. The recipe mentions to tent it with foil but could I just wrap it entirely as soon as I get a char?
