How to choose a Mortar & Pestle?

Hey, I am making pesto for the first time. I am looking on Amazon.ca for options. What type of material is best? I found Natural Granite, Black Granite, Stone, Ceramic, Porcelain, & Marble? Also, should I get a medium or large size? How many inches should the diameter be for easy of use. My budget is under $25CAD. Looking for something that lasts many, many years (without cracking). I want to make Pesto on a regular basis, and I'll probably eat a whole lot. I'd like to focus on maintaining the full taste profile of the Basil leaves without the material affecting the flavour of the pesto. Assuming I get the black granite type, how do you properly season it?
