  • Former President Donald Trump spoke at a rally for the first time since the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago.
  • He said it wasn't just his home that was raided, "it was the hopes and dreams of every citizen."
  • Trump was in Pennsylvania campaigning for Republicans Mehmet Oz and Doug Mastriano.

At the first rally since the FBI raided his Mar-a-Lago estate, former President Donald Trump said it wasn't just his home that was raided, "it was the hopes and dreams of every citizen who I've been fighting for since the moment I came down the golden escalator in 2015, wanting to represent the people."

Trump was referring to June 16, 2015, when he descended into the lobby of Trump Tower to announce his first presidential campaign.

On August 8, federal agents searched Trump's home and discovered more than 10,000 government documents, according to a publicly released inventory. The Department of Justice is investigating whether Trump broke three federal laws, including the Espionage Act.

Insider's Tom Porter reported the investigations appear to be moving toward criminal charges for Trump, according to a former top counterintelligence official.

At the rally, Trump claimed that during the raid agents "rifled through the first lady's closet drawers" and even did a "deep and ugly search of the room of my 16-year-old son."

Throughout the speech, Trump maintained the search at his Florida estate was politically motivated and "a travesty of justice." He added that it undermined American traditions and called the FBI and DOJ "vicious monsters."

Trump was in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, campaigning for Republicans Dr. Mehmet Oz and Doug Mastriano before the November midterm elections.

Oz is running against Democrat candidate Lt. Gov. John Fetterman for a seat in the Senate while Mastriano is taking on state Attorney General Josh Shapiro in the gubernatorial race.
