How long does raw chicken breast last on fridge. It's been a week.

I have two pieces of sealed, unopened chicken breast that I bought a week ago at the grocery store. I hate to throw it out if it is safe to eat, but also don't want to get food poisoning or worse.

Today would make day 8 since I purchased it. It's still in the package. Looks fine. Haven't opened it for a smell test yet, also don't really know what a "bad" chicken smell is

Edit: Smart chicken brand, purchased at Target. No sell by date.
