How long does it take for alcohol burn off when sautéing a pan on onions?

My boyfriend made some chicken. He sautéed some onions, added alcohol, let it reduce till about half of alcohol evaporated and added tomatoes and chicken.Chicken cooked for about 20 min. I am not supposed to have alcohol so my concern is if all of the alcohol burned off .
