What exactly is in a Thai shrimp paste, and has anyone ever had an allergic reaction to curries that contain it?

I am seriously allergic to shrimp and its cousins. I have spent a lifetime cooking and eating Thai food in the US and all over the world, and I have never had an allergic reaction to any curry. I noticed a similar question here 8 years ago, but no response.
