I want to make a very unique and exotic cake for a dinner party and would love some flavor combination ideas.

Example: earl grey tea flavored sponge with a fruit flavored buttercream that would complement the tea.

Yuzu is coming to mind, but what flavor sponge would complement it? I want to be able to taste the distinct flavors of the sponge and buttercream. Also want to do a nice filling…some sort of custard or mousse.
