Is there a difference between Mexican adobo sauce and Filipino adobo sauce?

Title pretty much sums it up... Is there an appreciable difference between the adobo sauce you'd find chilis packed in (like the La Costina/similar) and the adobo sauce branded as "Filipino Style" adobo?
